On July 18, 2018, Michael Parker, managing partner, Prakash Pillai, partner, Junxiang Koh, legal director from Singapore office of Clyde & Co, and Zhang Meng, lawyer of Beijing Representative Office visited China Maritime Arbitration Commission (CMAC), Dr. Chen Bo, Deputy Secretary-General and other members of CMAC received the delegation of Clyde & Co.

Dr. Chen Bo, firstly extended a warm welcome to Mr. Michael Parker, Mr. Prakash Pillai, Mr. Junxiang Koh and Ms. Zhang Meng. She then introduced the establishment background, organizations, business characteristics of CMAC and its Arbitration Rules. She said that the CMAC is the only and unique arbitration organization which is featured by admiralty, maritime, logistics related disputes resolution in China. It has strong expert resources and extensive influence on maritime arbitration, aviation arbitration and mediation. She hoped to strengthen the cooperation and exchange with Clyde & Co through this opportunity.

Mr. Michael Parker and Mr. Prakash Pillai introduced the general situation and business characteristics of Clyde & Co and pointed out that maritime is one of their practical fields. They expressed the desire to strengthen the contact and deepen cooperation and exchanges with CMAC.

Both sides also conducted in-depth discussions on issues related to the choice of seat of arbitration and Belt & Road initiative.
